At The Year Ahead …
An interesting addition to the equation here is that Neptune (who
is the ‘natural’ ruling planet of Pisces), has been
in Aquarius since 1997, and will continue his slow progress through
this sign until 2012 (the final date on the Mayan Calendar), when
he also will finally enter his own sign of Pisces… and this
only happens every 164 years. So this next 7 years will see what
we call a “mutual reception”, as these two planets are
in each others’ signs. This is a tremendously powerful alliance
of outer planetary energies, and as we have seen the outer planets
are responsible for the deeper urges within our collective evolution.
Simply put, we may expect to gradually see the releasing of a Spiritual
understanding into our world, which will finally offer the inspiration
to people to transcend ‘materialism’ as our God, and
return to a greater state of Soulfulness - the very thing which
we have been working toward opening since the mid 1960s. Psychological
models will also deepen and expand us further as we recognise these
ideas around Psycho-Spiritual Health. So this is indeed exciting
stuff!
If you are a Piscean, or a Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarian, then you
will be under the influence of Uranus from 2003, so get ready for
many sweeping changes in your life, which may leave you wondering
what happened to who you used to be!! These signs will now be challenged
to awaken to how they may use their skills and energy toward a more
Humanitarian application. This 7 year period will be a great “dissemination”
phase, as all these signs share and teach the knowledge which can
change and awaken people to a more wholistic view of our world.
Saturn Completes His Passage Through
Gemini And Enters Cancer
Back to practical matters!! Our old friend Saturn will complete
his passage through Gemini, and enter Cancer on June 5th. Until
this time he will continue to bring his often difficult lessons
and process to all you Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo and Pisceans.
His business is to “grow you up” as I say, or to force
the reality of structure, order, discipline, responsibility, and
the necessary commitment within us to bring about long term results.
So this has been happening since April 2001, and is especially sticky
for you Mutable types, as your tendency is to resist focus, in favor
of variety and versatility. So by next June you folks are meant
to have gained skills and self understanding which will deepen you
and your future potentials. If you are Gemini, Libra or Aquarius
(the Air signs) you will continue your very positive progress through
late 2002 up till June 2003, if you apply yourself and really make
the best of things!
So keeping these themes in mind Cancers, Capricorns, Aries and
Librans will move into similar territory from mid 2003. Some other
key themes here will help you to use these energies constructively,
rather than be at the mercy of them. Saturn forces us to restructure
our goals and ambitions, face our fears, become more responsible
(or the reverse if you are the overly responsible for everybody
else Cancer/Capricorn type), honour our karmic obligations…
and generally to work hard! Re-orientation of “Self”
in relation to home/family/relationships/career are the themes in
these signs. If you are a Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces (the Water signs)
then you will experience a positive developmental couple of years
if you are willing to put in some time and effort!
Collectively, corporate/ business/ real estate /families and relationships
will be under re-structuring pressure, so we will see the financial
effects of the 2002 phase really start to have impact, as the personal
goals of many currently conventional people will reflect their desire
to “do business” in a much more humanitarian and earth
conscious spirit. Perhaps the work of Bono and other influential
icons will begin to pay dividends…literally… as financial
institutions finally allow 3rd World debt to be freed up and a more
reasonable future available to the developing nations! The last
time Saturn passed through Cancer was 1974/5/6 and this was a time
of retracement in the Real Estate market and the Corporate Sector.
The other feature of 1974 was big rains which ended a serious draught
and brought the Brisbane Floods and Cyclone Tracey. The previous
Saturn in Cancer was 1944/5/6 - 1944 was also a big wet phase which
ended a major drought. So perhaps we may look forward to some “important
water” after mid year. The “droughts and flooding rains”
image comes to mind here, and with Australia’s tendency to
Sagittarian extremes then this does indeed some quite possible.
Generally we will see a return to “safe and sound”
philosophies as folks recognise how inappropriate their financial
priorities have been based on their desires for “things”
they don’t need, can’t afford and aren’t making
them happy!! From mid 2005 until September 2007 Saturn will transit
Leo, during which phase we may begin to actually meet some true
leaders with more Spiritual and humanistic goals and aspirations,
who have been waiting to emerge from behind the scenes.
Jupiter Completes His Passage Through
Leo and Enters Virgo
Jupiter has a 12 year cycle so spends a year in each sign. Yes Chinese
Astrology arises from this cycle. He will spend the first half of
2003 in Leo, which he entered in August 2002. Jupiter is the ruler
of Sagittarius, and is the God who brings the opportunity and growth
function, so Saturn can do his developmental principle. So he is
quite happy in Leo, as his naturally fiery temperament has lots
of scope in the dynamic creative function which is motivated in
this sign. We will be feeling more like playing and partying and
being creative after the late 2001/early 2002 time in Cancer, where
we stayed at home doing renovations…on our homes and on our
inner home; our emotional safety.
So creative projects which you have been brewing behind the scenes
for the past few years are now ready for expression!! Autonomy is
a theme here, as well as adventure and personal freedom, so any
enmeshed family/relationship issues may become a problem as we seek
new avenues which take us into the world. Remember to keep the home
fires burning so you can have your cake and eat it too. If you are
Aries, Leo or Sagittarius (the Fire signs) then you will be busy
and active during the first half of 2003. Use your sense of fresh
enthusiasm to motivate and inspire others! An image here I find
powerful, is of a dam wall behind which water has been building
for many years, and the Universe is about to open a big valve on
the flood gates to release a surge of fresh creative people and
events. There are many folks who have been healing and preparing
for their world work in many and various fields over the last several
years. They are now ready to get on with it!
Jupiter take us forward and brings new opportunity, sometimes
disguised as loss… which is why he can be such a tricky God.
So it will be interesting to see how events unfold in the Israel/Palestine
and India/Pakistan scenarios previously outlined - if you remember
they all have Saturn and Pluto in Leo setups, so Jupiter in Leo
will activate these energies in late 2002 and early 2003…
so there will be a breakthrough alright, and we all need to hope
it is without another war.
As he enters Virgo in September 2003 another level of evolution
opens to us, as we begin to integrate and apply our fresh confidence
and excitement from the Leo phase, into practical and useful daily
service. Virgo broadly rules work and health, so many may begin
to study and practise new ideas in psycho-emotional/spiritual health,
and we may see new organisations arise which appeal in the mainstream
this way. For instance lifestyle programs may really kick in, which
offer education in ideas which are currently still considered to
be "alternate". If you are Virgo, Capricorn or Taurus
(the Earth signs) then you will have major developments in your
individual expression during the second half 2003 and first half
2004.
From September through December 2003 Mars will be in Pisces opposing
Jupiter in Virgo, so this may herald a immune system/viral issue
collectively, or be the time when medical researchers announce new
treatments in this area. Perhaps this is when we begin to see the
“uniting” of Naturopathic and Allopathic Medicine…
wouldn’t that be nice!!
2002 = 4 - Saturn’s number of constraint, difficulty and
new structures… the year we leave behind. 2003 = 5 - Jupiter’s
number of expansion, growth and opportunity. So generally I believe
that the results of this coming year for each of us may be very
positive, if we take to heart the need to change our minds and mouths,
and begin opening to a renewed sense of purpose and meaning in our
lives. “Our Thoughts Create Our Realities” - so change
your mind and change our world!!!

ARIES
If you are a wise Ram then you have been making the best of some
very favorable influences over recent months, and your positive
enterprising spirit will be well rewarded during the first half
of the year, if you keep making hay while the proverbial Sun is
shining your way. Creative projects feature here which contain a
big picture of your future directions - there’s some power
within your grasp at this time if you have learnt the lessons of
temperance and management of your often raw and impulsive ways.
Perfect indicators for travel, fun and enjoying yourself - so make
the best of it, because from early June as Saturn enters Cancer
for a 2 ½ year stint, you will begin to be challenged to
do some pretty responsible stuff… home/family/relationships
and career will require attention and consolidation - time to refocus
your energies and pay some fresh dues on the wheel of life. Your
