Eclipses for 2009
There are 2 ‘sets’ of Solar and Lunar eclipses each year roughly 6 months apart. Eclipses have been considered since ancient times as “harbingers of change” and when they fall in your sign (Sun, Moon and Ascendant as well) you can count on a major shift beginning and proceeding over the following 6 months. As the eclipses also have a cycle of 19 years you can look back, in this case to 1987 for insight into the kind of outcomes you may expect from these potent combinations of Sun and Moon and Nodal combinations. If you know your horoscope then allow up to 3 degrees ‘orb of influence’ to your natal planets.
January 26th - New Moon Solar Eclipse at 6 Aquarius
February 9th - Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 21 Leo
July 7th - Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 15 Capricorn
July 21st - Total New Moon Solar Eclipse at 19 Cancer
December 31st - Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 10 Cancer
Mercury Retrograde Phases
The little planet of communication and all things techno zaps around the Sun 3 times from earth’s perspective each year so this creates 3 retrograde phases (apparently going backwards). This particular piece of Astronomical reality is one of the few pieces of information that seems to have begun to come through into popular everyday usage… which is a good thing! I look forward to the time when all things to do with planetary cycles become mainstream… maybe then our planet would begin to come into “synch”! Anyway… when Mercury is retrograde it’s a great time to do all the “re” words… reorganize, reassess, review…and so on. And it’s usually not a great time to sign documents, expect mail, email, planes et al to arrive on time. SO always keep this in mind as the year goes by and use the few weeks before each retro time to get as much done as possible and then wait out the 3 weeks until he returns to forward motion.
January 11th until February 2nd 7degrees Aquarius and then back into Capricorn
May 7th to 31st 1 degree Gemini and then back into Taurus
September 7th to 29th 6 degrees Libra and then into Virgo
Dec 26th until Jan 15th 2010 21 degrees Capricorn – becomes 1st retro phase for 2010)
You will notice the 2009 cycle occurs in the Air signs signaling the primary theme for Mercury for this year becomes ideas, communication and information in general. Also expect general upsets in telecommunication and transport/airline industries as a result. Personally we are all challenged to embrace new ideas and seek growth in our ability to diplomatically create solutions.
