At last the penny seems to be dropping! After the many decades so many of us have been telling the ‘powers that be' all is not well on planet earth the signs have become so blatantly obvious a few folks at the top are finally starting to listen! So it is with renewed optimism and a spring in my step that I greet you with this planetary year ahead report and say… the seeds of conscious change may begin to shoot…very tentatively… in the year ahead!
This does not mean of course that we are out of the proverbial woods just yet. In fact we have not even entered them, and the path ahead will be long and treacherous… at times profoundly frustrating, and ultimately we do not know what lies at the end. But take heart my friends as many Souls will begin to gather force in the coming years so we may meet the deadline before it is too late to change the course of our planets' fate.

General planetary placements for 2007
As Jupiter spent 2006 in the deep nether regions of Scorpio we have all done some pretty serious Soul searching this past year examining the true nature of our power (or lack of it). And as this is the sign ruling “resources” it has become apparent how vulnerable our global resources really are in the face of global warming, and all the multiplicity of problems that beset our global village. Jupiter in Scorpio has given us all the opportunity (his keyword) to examine our desire nature, our inner & outer security, and to bring to the surface and release old negative emotional patterns that limit us. So I hope you have all taken advantage of this to empower yourselves to move ahead in a freer state as 2007 opens…with a bang. Yes 06 has been a very stressful and for we fire/air types quite boring, and uninspiring time. But as a friend of mine recently described it, this has been a time of “God by default”… a wonderful description of the reality that when the outer world looses its' glamour, we are left with our inner world and our relationship with ourselves! Very challenging for many of us…but oh so rewarding once you settle down to acceptance of the process of finding peace and harmony on the inner plane. This is of course a necessary pre-requisite to finding it on the outer one!
Jupiter passes through his own sign Sagittarius . So with a calmer disposition and much greater objectivity we greet a new year. With Jupiter now in his home sign of Sagittarius get ready for some fireworks, huge shifts and major developments on all levels of our existence. This is why it is so important to head into the year in an “objective” state, as with many extremes of experience ahead of us it is absolutely necessary to stay cool and not buy into reactionary emotions or behaviours. Got it?? So that said what can we expect?
Generally we will all experience renewed positivity and optimism! The key lessons and opportunities involve understanding that our diversities help us learn and grow, our thoughts and feelings are creative, and that it is time to happily share our gifts, talents, wisdom, knowledge and abundance to enhance the lives of all people. Jupiter has a 12 year cycle so think back to 1995 to remember what happened in your own life last time.
However there is a major downside to this “optimism” in that it provides a tendency to foolish speculative risk. Rising oil prices and interest rates in ‘06 in hand with increasing environmental issues have bred an aura of crisis for many people, and now that oil prices are stabilizing once more the optimism I keep mentioning may lead to a period of relaxing our guard and deciding that all is well again. We humans are so good at sticking our heads in the sand after all. And as one of Jupiter's favourite words is excess it will be no surprise to see people become reckless in the desire to make back what they have lost (in the case of share markets), both physically and emotionally. Most growth processes contain a degree of risk. So it is important to measure your risk and equate the financial and emotional outcomes accordingly. And of course so many people just don't give a damn anyway…”hey we're living on a dieing planet so what the hell”… we hear them say. Needless to say this is a completely unacceptable response…so says I…!
Sagittarius rules all forms of “dissemination” of knowledge and information . It promotes the quest for meaning and purpose so necessary to fuel one's passion and creative expression. You will find life without some sense of meaning from here will feel shallow and empty. So time to find your passion and if necessary embark of further education and learning curves. Jupiter in Sagittarius rules all forms of religion and belief, and with big daddy Pluto (yes despite his demotion he is still a powerful little dude) also resident in Sagittarius these past 14 years, this is the major theme of these times. Whose God is THE God and why do they keep killing each other, when all their Gods say this is not the way to love they neighbour . Perplexing indeed. So by December 2007 Jupiter will meet Pluto in ‘conjunction' and things will have come to a head. What this will ‘look like' is of course unknowable. All we can do is speculate by examining the planets involved. Jupiter does everything to extremes…he loves being important and making things ‘big'. Pluto rules death, destruction and re-birth. In all areas to do with religion and probably terrorism, which these days go hand in hand, expect a sense of crescendo as the year unfolds as things build toward a rather explosive outcome.
Jupiter also makes a challenging aspect with old earth shaker himself Uranus in Pisces several times in '07, so stay tuned for geological events…possible earthquakes & tsunamis in late January, May and October. The last time Jupiter was in Sagittarius was 1995 and the U.S. experienced “the busiest hurricane season in 62 years”…so we shall see. And speaking of extremes, it will probably be the hottest and coldest year recorded in recent history.
Now let's look at some positive scenarios. Publishing is ruled by Jupiter and Sagittarius. And recently we are hearing faint noises from corporations like the Murdoch group that they are getting behind the push to make governments and corporations take responsibility for creating solutions for global warming. This is good news and we'll see more in the media to this end. Then we have Al Gore's movie “An Inconvenient Truth”, which is a truly scary and necessary presentation…at last…of the true nature of the acceleration of our environmental problems. Richard Branson has also announced his entrance into the fray. And so will many more powerful people during the next year.
The horoscope for 2007 (set for January 1 st 00. 00 Greenwich) indicates an explosive start to the year with Mars joining Pluto on January 13 th . This could involve terrorism or be the commencement of another phase of the Middle East wars that feature during this decade. The US Horoscope is activated by the conjunction of these two planets responsible for aggressive warfare. With the decline of support for the War in Iraq I am wondering if the US itself may instigate some kind of event to re-unite the American population.
The 2007 chart also carries Moon in Gemini opposition Jupiter in Sagittarius , telling us that freedom of speech is a major theme in the year ahead. So start talking folks. Speak up…speak out and get involved in this year of change. The potential here requires entering into “dialogue” rather than the old world view of aggressive solutions to problems. There is no more time for us to be complacent, despite our easy untouched lives here in the magical land of Oz. And it's time someone told John Howard to wake up and smell the flowers…whoops…pollution. Why won't he let Australia join the Kyoto group? By 2008 environmental issues will have become a major political platform…all around the world. There are solutions. All we have to do is demand that big business stop running the world as if there is no tomorrow.
Saturn completes his passage through Leo (begun July 05) and enters Virgo During 2006 Saturn in Leo was in challenging aspect to Jupiter in Scorpio, so we experienced a stress between the expansion and contraction principle. This exhibited itself in both the Real Estate market and all trading stocks and brought about a necessary re-shuffle and retracement phase. From January 2007 Jupiter & Saturn form a “trine” aspect and the expansion process will re-commence. However the call is toward very careful and practical management of all your assets, or work toward development of same. Jupiter will present many deals that look too good to be true…and they will be! Be extremely discerning when the Lord of Fortuna comes calling, as our lessons often come through opportunity disguised as loss. Be very careful of having the wool pulled over your eyes.
The last time Jupiter and Saturn formed this aspect in Leo and Sagittarius was 1948. And some very significant socio-political events…such as; Burma & Ceylon gained independence from Britain – Mahatma Gandhi assassinated – The Berlin Blockade began the “Cold War” - Communists seized Czechoslovakia – The State of Israel was declared and the Arab Israel war began. And there were also some very positive events; The Marshall Plan authorized $5 billion aid for 16 countries – The World Health Organisation was founded – The World Council of Churches was established. So we see some significant events coinciding with this planetary combo the last time it was in effect. Once again we shall see what's in store in '07 but the positive theme can be positive structural growth.
As Saturn continues to oppose Neptune until late June (half way through their 37 year cycle begun in 1989) lack of clarity is very much the dominant issue. Smoke and mirrors continue to confound us when attempting to fathom the rules of the materialistic process that governs our planetary affairs. What we are seeing since August '06 through to late June '07 are some hard reality checks exposing the inherent design flaws within our old material systems. The oil era is drawing to a close and big business must now gear up for alternate power sources within a shorter period than they would have us believe the oil reserves will last. Political heads will roll by July 2007 when this aspect completes with revelation of deceptions being a primary cause. On the up side this can be a phase when you can work hard to begin to make your dreams and visions a reality, as long as you are clear about what exactly these dreams are! We now enter a period where we are about to play midwife to the birth of a new culture in the midst of the death of the old one. (More on this in the Neptune section)
Saturn enters Virgo September 3 rd commencing his 2 year run through the sign of health and wholeness. And as his principle contains constraint, limitation and restructure we can expect some hard truths to come to light regarding our food sources, nutritional issues and the medical industry as a whole. Chiron continues through Aquarius…5 year period Chiron entered Aquarius in '05 and will be here until 2010. The “Wounded Healer” is set to bring many social issues to the forefront that have been simmering since the last cycle in the 1950s. Racial prejudice, inhumane practices like slavery and mis-use of the animal kingdom will all become political platforms that galvanise individuals to participate in reform and change. Chiron in the sign of humanity offers us healing at a larger group/societal level, but first it has to expose the fact that humanity has yet to realise we are all in this together in the years to come. Anger and separation is the hallmark of an unconscious civilization.*
Uranus continues through Pisces…7 year period Uranus is electrifying his way through Pisces, which he entered in 2003 and where he remains until 2010.* So far his revolutionary impulse has been very busy bringing us all kinds of natural cataclysms involving water (Pisces). We are in a water crisis globally…either too much or not enough it would appear. The War on Terror is also a very Uranian affair as we move into a new kind of global war experience. During 2006 Jupiter in Scorpio formed a “trine” or ease aspect to our Sky God. So we saw many positive developments of science and technology toward solving the water crisis. Uranus forms a square aspect with Jupiter 3 times in 2007. Uranus rules technology, science, internet technology and inventions of all kinds. Jupiter in Sagittarius in aspect tells us that there will be huge developments in all these fields. In 1995 Microsoft released Windows 95 so expect a whole new wave of internet technology in the year ahead. 1995 was also the year the DVD format was released, so again further visual arts techno progress is in the wind. So a good place to invest if you're into the stock market. Also all company stocks that are progressive in water technologies will surge ahead. Also as previously mentioned, we may expect a number of major weather or geological events.
Neptune continues through Aquarius…14 year period Neptune continues his slow glide through Aquarius where he has been resident since 1998 and will be until 2012…the magic date that marks the end of the Mayan Calendar.* This placement is responsible for the general call for increased conscious spiritual awareness of recent years. However the “fundamentalist right” is also on the ascendancy, and it would appear that the lessons of tolerance and unification are yet to be learnt. Neptune completes his opposed to Saturn in Leo mid year, the half way point in their cycle that began in 1989…the year the Berlin Wall came down both physically and metaphorically. (previously mentioned in the Saturn section). Neptune governs the pressure within the ‘group psyche' toward a collective dream or ideal that is inclusive and non-separative. It is also the factor that allows groups of people to be easily influenced by a glamour or deception. Saturn impels the need for concrete systems of governance within a group or individual. At this opposing point in their cycle expect to see tension between these two divergent factors in both our individual lives and global affairs. “It is now possible to integrate the concrete and the transcendent, the practical and the ideal. We must find a new way of being broad, idealistic and inclusive (Neptune), while remaining at the same time clearly focused, definite and efficient (Saturn).” This factor will underpin human affairs for the next 17 years!!
Pluto almost completes his time in Sagittarius…15 year period Pluto has been grinding his way through Sagittarius since 1993 and leaves in 2008. His process offers death and renewal of people, things and ideas that have outlived their useful form. While in Sagittarius ‘religion and belief' have been the control triggers that have unleashed so much anguish and retribution as part of this evolutionary cycle. All of us continue to be challenged to renew our ability to find purpose and meaning in our lives, as well as seeking the middle path of tolerant understanding rather than polarized extremes. Jupiter rules Sagittarius, and as he conjoins Pluto in December these issues will come to a head. He then begins his 16 year stay in Capricorn in 2008 initiating a huge transformation of the material and commercial world.
The Nodes continue passing through Pisces and Virgo…18 month period Both physical health (Virgo) and mental health (Pisces) issues will come to the forefront. Significant changes and re-orientation can occur under these 19 year cycles. Practical (Virgo) spirituality (Pisces) is also an outcome on offer here. Spiritual and health organisations will experience crisis as people begin to seek a more wholistic understanding of spirituality and health.

Aries After the growth through adversity phase of 2006 you now enter a year of renewed faith and optimism in your journey through life. Business areas can grow steadily early year if you apply yourself steadily with a view to longer term outcomes. Jupiter's principle of expansion and growth assures us that life never stays the same, and as he spends the next year in your higher learning, travel and horizon widening zone get set for adventures of both mental and worldly types. Rams are folks who flourish by initiating new projects…you know how brave you can be when you have a purpose! So a new purpose is the key to your growth this year. Be that studying material to support your current career or seeking empowering new concepts or philosophies, it is essential to move beyond your old world view. ‘The times they are a changing' so don't be a dinosaur. You will be traveling a great deal, both locally and internationally to visit inspirational places and for business advancement. After September Saturn enters your daily work and health area bringing his urge to regenerate these facets of your life. So pave the way until then by bringing in the knowledge you will need to do this.
Taurus The year ahead contains incredible gifts. You're probably thinking I mean external gifts…right? Indeed these can grow out of the process ahead of you, but the real fruit of this phase is growth in understanding your interior world. Life is a constant series of cycles; sometimes worldly achievement, and then we retreat back into ourselves to nurture and take stock of life. So if things are less than exciting as January opens bear in mind that 2007 will take you deeply into the nature of your intimate bonds with others, as well as the many ways you share resources with them. This is the perfect time to study psychology or undertake therapies that support a shift of consciousness to transform your behaviour patterns and release limited beliefs in your nature. Any kind of spiritual growth work applies here along with research of all kinds. Inheritances and legacies can also feature; once again the theme is gifts! This phase is great for joining forces with others in business, real estate or family investments. By September you'll feel the family duty pressure of the past few years begin to lessen, as Saturn moves into your 5 th house. So your next challenge is to develop your creativity and work to give it expression.
Gemini You've just spent an intense 2006 developing work and career areas, and if you've responded appropriately things should be in place for expansion now into the next phase of your life. And it's all about relationships…both professional and personal. For some this means weddings or commitments… so soothe your free spirit by knowing that deepening your unions now will lead to a stronger sense of support in all future endeavors. This is not a go it alone phase as many people will bring help in many ways. As the sign of the “communicator” these stars have you in super talking and learning mode, but remember “twin people” need to learn to listen much more than they speak!! You will attract clever and powerful people toward you who will bring unique knowledge and wisdom. But be prepared for many shifts and changes in your professional activities, as others may be fickle or unreliable...or maybe it's you! Make sure facts and people are who they say they are, don't' overextend or “big note” yourself or take foolish risks. Later year Saturn brings his stabilising force to your home family zone for the first time in 28 years! You will be ready to lay both physical and emotional foundations and build your family life.
Cancer From January Jupiter introduces your most fulfilling work developments since 1995. Regardless of your career field if you ‘go for it' now you'll experience the excitement of new purpose and structure for you life. The keyword of this phase is service. So be aware that fulfilling your duties without expecting ego gratification is the key to your personal growth now. Enormous reward and satisfaction will come through helping others, both friends and colleagues, and you'll be a force to be reckoned with in any organizational role. Indeed this is the function that most sums up your best feature in the year ahead. Mind you the downside is that you may be overly demanding, and expecting others to conform to your own very high standards. So take care not to nit pick or be too critical or you'll spoil relationships that can otherwise be progressive. This is also a positive health phase but with a tendency to weight gain if you overindulge that famous tummy of yours. Indeed avoiding extremes in all areas is a good move. By later year the restrictive tone of your financial world of the past 2 years begins to dissipate, as gains are made through your work efforts. Life begins to feel like you're getting somewhere!
Leo So Leo another hard working period ahead until September, but the good news is that things will be a whole lot easier, as you are one of the three fire signs about to enjoy the upsurge of positive growth from Jupiter as he spends 2007 in expansionary Sagittarius. With Saturn in your sign since July 05, you have been in a demanding phase compelling you toward new goals and responsibilities…hard yakka my friends. So you'll be pleased to know a fresh wave of positivity is on the way! The foundations you have recently laid are now ready for expansion and forward motion without recent feelings of “oh God this is all too hard”. Your excitement and fire returns…at last!! The focus now is creative freedom and synthesizing this with your goals. There's travel to places you've always wanted to go, and a major learning or teaching phase opens. VIRGO Your year opens with a flurry of activity at home, which indeed sets the tone for a year when you can make your home, family and personal life more secure than ever before and a source of support and comfort. There will be many changes that make up the process of achieving this, and some of these will contain allowing loved ones to “leave home” both physically and emotionally, or perhaps it's you who is moving on. Changes in residence are typical in this phase and some of you may relocate internationally or have visitors from other climes coming to stay a while. If you wish to build or renovate do so during March April & May for the least disruptive outcomes. Libra There's plenty of action and movement in your world as 2007 opens, so expect this trend to continue as the months go by. Yes a busy year for lovely Libra with a focus on intellectual growth and training, and/or spreading the word in your chosen field. Gregarious by nature, these stars are perfect for expanding your network of associates and generally developing your people and relating skills. If speaking up for yourself or about the things you believe in is not one of your strengths, then further training will create the maximum benefit from this next phase of your growth. With a somewhat unstable flavour around your daily work area expect a number of changes particularly in January May and October. This is an era for experimentation and seeking environments where you can freely express your originality and ideas. So stay cool if this doesn't settle down until next year…enjoy the ride. Speaking of which you'll be in your car or on planes heaps along the way, so watch your speed and take it easy. By later '07 Saturn enters your house of solitude and all things psychic for the next 2 years, so get set for time off from the madding crowd, as you take time to develop your feminine gifts.
Scorpio With expansive Jupiter resident in your values and finances zone for the year abundance is on your mind, and indeed great prosperity can be yours if you keep your actions steady and purposeful. This is especially so in March, April and May when a significant opportunity or investment in your career will pay handsome dividends by September. Mind you curbing the “urge to splurge” is vital unless it contributes to longer term goals, as is being easily influenced by get rich quick schemes! Another area of increase is a more internal one…i.e. your value systems and security function. Your true goal now is to become a conscious eagle rather than a controlling scorpion manipulating others to feather his own nest…just a gentle reminder! Studying areas to do with finances and investment is also perfect in this phase, and its' a good idea to find a mentor or wise teacher rather than try to go it alone...or hot water may be the outcome. Saturn remains in your career zone until September (here since July '05) so make the best of this time learning to shine in your own right as an individual. He then begins to challenge your ability to bring your gifts into co-operation with others to achieve larger humanitarian goals.
Sagittarius 2007 brings your ruling “lucky” planet Jupiter into your sign heralding the beginning of a dynamic new life phase. And as this is a once in 12 year ‘moment', get ready to initiate new enterprises in a steady and orderly fashion. With some dynamic planets getting things moving in January you'll have huge energy demanding action and forward motion, but the downside here (and all year for that matter) can involve conflict with others if you feel thwarted or blocked. So be a wise archer as you go about the business of doing splendid things without causing havoc. Plenty of travel in this year's stars for both business and pleasure, and after the quieter year just lived you'll feel your enthusiasm for life returning with gusto. As the King/Queen of “extremes” just watch yourself with bighting off too big a piece of the action, and either burning out or letting people down if you promise more than you can deliver. After September Saturn enters your career zone for 2 years of hard work and achievement. So work until then to set yourself up toward this next cycle. Capricorn If you feel like closing the door and staying home for the year that's because Jupiter just entered your 12 th house for the next 12 months…the house of seclusion, solitude and growth of a more internal rather than external kind. So whenever possible find time for time out, in preparation for a big new 12 year cycle commencing in '08. Feed your Soul with artistic expression, develop your spiritual life, practice self reflection and release the past. These are the activities of this phase. Mind you working and bill paying still goes on, but try to temper your usually overly ambitious and responsible tendencies with a softer approach to all things. Hey maybe you'll discover you can achieve just as much without pushing so hard! Another feature of this phase is ‘compassionate service' where you give more than you receive, and derive great joy from doing this. You'll also enjoy discussing new ideas with interesting people you would normally dismiss, as you are due for some big shifts in your thought processes. Your shared finances area has been causing stress since mid '05 and by later ‘07 the pressure comes off. You will then become interested in teachings that support your balance & harmony.
Aquarius Many changes and developments during '06 have already taken you beyond your previous life, and these were not without some stress (and a lot of hard work) along the way. 2007 contains greater freedom to take you further down the road and there will be some exciting times and fantastic highlights, especially involving working with groups of people toward your favourite area…changes for humanity and the underprivileged. But there is still a caution to keep your goals in sight and work steadily toward them during the first half of the year. Partnership areas still contain challenge until after July so be prepared to ‘call out' any people in your life who are not in full integrity or behaving deceptively. If necessary cut your losses and move on. Your natural urge for originality, invention, reform and change is well supported now so dare to approach those who can help you bring your ideas into form. You may find yourself called to leadership roles or to teach and inspire others. Also a very social year when people of influence will come into your life. Finances can be good during this cycle but it can go out just as quickly as it comes in so take care. By later year things begin to quieten so go for it until then.
Pisces For the best outcomes in 2007 focus your positive thoughts and intentions toward your career, social status and reputation, and with reasonable effort you can expect considerable progress. Fishy people are “feelers” and can usually rely on instinct and intuition to lead you in the right direction, but since mid '06 until mid '07 your outcomes requires blending this with some very practical down to earth moves to enable this to occur. Not a time to just hang out and flow as you may prefer…rather a time for determination and solid work to make those famous dreams of yours come true. You also need to allow for some quick turns in the road in January, May and October as sudden events bring factors you're not expecting…but will work well in the end. There's an international flavour here…perhaps you are offered work overseas or you head off to foreign shores for study or training. Or perhaps you are teaching or training others and writing books or courses. Your philosophical slant will help you cope with change now, but more stabilizing factors do not arrive until later in '07 courtesy of Saturn. Partnerships of all kinds will then become a dominant feature in your life for the next 2 years.
